ASNA is a volunteer organization of neighbors and businesses around Alamo Square. We are renters, homeowners, and neighborhood merchants.

We are dedicated to building community, creating a safe neighborhood, and preserving and maintaining our park.  We sponsor the annual Alamo Square Flea Market, and host Park Volunteer Days, Alamo Square Playgroups, and more!

Membership dues are for the calendar year.

DPW Sewer Project Update 10/24/16

This Week (10/24)

Crews will continue work on remaining sewer laterals. This work will occur on Haight Street near the intersection of Haight and Fillmore. The “no parking” barricades will be placed at locations where sewer lateral and/or culvert work is to be performed. This work will not impact sewer service.

On Scott Street, south of Hayes Street, the Contractor is expected to complete the installation of the sewer main, a drainage culvert and two manholes.

Week of October 31, 2016

The contractor will begin sewer main replacement on Hayes Street between Lyon and Central streets.

On Haight St, between Scott St. and Buchanan St., the contractor will begin sewer main trench restoration work. The sewer trench restoration work on Haight Street, Scott to Buchanan, is expected to take 2.5 weeks to complete barring any weather delays.

The water lateral connection work is tentatively scheduled to commence towards the middle of the week on the 1400 block of Haight Street.

DPW Sewer Replacement Update 10/5/16

This week (October 3-7)

The contractor has completed the sewer main replacement work on Hayes Street between Scott and Divisadero streets. This week, the contractor is replacing sewer laterals on the north side of this block.

Week of October 10, 2016

 

On Hayes Street, between Scott and Divisadero, the contractor will begin replacing sewer laterals on the south side of the block.

Week of October 17, 2016

The contractor will complete the sewer work on Hayes Street between Scott and Divisadero streets.   Sewer main replacement work is tentatively scheduled to commence on Hayes Street from Lyon to Central the week of October 24, 2016.

On Haight St, between Scott St. and Buchanan St., the contractor will begin sewer trench restoration work. The trench restoration work will begin at the Haight and Scott streets intersection and proceed in an easterly direction towards Buchanan Street. The contractor is anticipated to complete this phase of trench restoration work by the first week of November. The bus stops at Pierce, Fillmore and Buchanan will be temporarily relocated as work progresses along Haight Street. Bus stops will be relocated to mid-block locations. The “no parking” barricades will be placed at locations where trench restoration work is to be performed.

DPW Sewer Line Update 9/23/2016

This week

Crews continued sewer lateral work on Haight Street between Fillmore and Steiner streets. The lateral replacement work on this block should be complete next week.

Also this week, the contractor continued sewer main replacement work on Hayes Street between Scott and Divisadero streets. The mainline work on this block is expected to take another 2-3 weeks to complete. Once work on the main line is complete, crews will schedule sewer lateral replacement on the block.

Week of September 26, 2016

 

Crews will also continue sewer lateral replacement work on Haight Street between Fillmore and Steiner streets. The contractor will then continue localized sewer lateral replacement work on Haight Street. The “no parking” barricades will be placed at any locations where lateral work is to be performed. This work won’t impact sewer service.

Sewer main replacement will continue on Hayes Street between Scott and Divisadero.

Last year’s Victorian Alliance House Tour was held around Alamo Square.

Spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon on our self-guided walking tour of the Duboce Park Neighborhood. Visit beautifully restored interiors of 19th Century homes. Added to these charming residences is a remarkably preserved post-quake church sanctuary, where you may enjoy complimentary refreshments and a gift shop. All net proceeds benefit the Victorian Alliance historic preservation grants program.

After October 8 all tickets will be $55.
Day-of- tour tickets, if available, will also be $55.

DPW Sewer Replacement Update 8/11/16

In advance of the upcoming sewer work on Hayes Street, an arborist will perform tree pruning work on some trees along Hayes Street. The work was scheduled to begin last week but was postponed until this Friday 8/12. The pruning work will take about a week to complete.

Week of August 15, 2016

The contractor will continue sewer lateral replacement work on Haight Street between Scott and Pierce streets.

The arborist will continue as-needed tree pruning along Hayes Street in advance of sewer main replacement work.

Week of August 22, 2016

Crews are expected to commence sewer lateral replacement work on Haight Street between Fillmore and Steiner streets. The lateral replacement work on this block is expected to take 5-6 weeks to complete.

The contractor is also scheduled to begin sewer main replacement work this week on Hayes Street between Scott and Divisadero streets.
